Ms. Kaitlin Murray - Reading Interventionist

Hello My Name Is...

Ms. Kaitlin Murray

Welcome!  I am looking forward to my 9th year of teaching during the 2018-2019 school year!  I graduated as Magna Cum Laude with honors in Curriculum & Instruction from Illinois State University, receiving my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education.  I am also middle school endorsed in the areas of language arts, and social science, identifying me as a highly qualified teacher for K-9th grade.  I received my Masters in Reading Education (K-12th grade) from Olivet University, where I graduated as Valedictorian.  Currently, I am the literacy specialist for Islands Academy, as well as the RtI (Response to Intervention) Coordinator for Islands and Right Choices.  I am so excited to be a Titan!

My husband, Paul, and I were both born in Rockford, IL and moved to South Carolina in 2013 on military orders.  He was an officer at Parris Island, but now he is a Military Justice & Beaufort/Savannah DUI defense attorney.  We have one beautiful and wonderful daughter, Briana (also known as “Bri”) who turned 3 years old in August.

I love to read, enjoy the water (whether by fishing, boating, or relaxing), and LOVE animals.  I loathe spiders and most creepy, crawly things.
